Read on to find out what people think of the Sit Experience.

The Times of India - Chennai carried an article about us on August 16th 2008. You can read it here.

"I have always believed that it is attitudes that really translate into most of our thoughts and actions. One could understand oneself a great deal through self introspection and if that self introspection of one is shared with the other and gives different perspectives, it transforms into a group introspection and then into a societal introspection. These introspections only provide new dimensions to thought which then transcend into perceptions and perspectives before they finally reach up to belief, conviction and attitude. The Sit aims to be a catalyst for such a chain reaction by developing civilian self thought!"

- Srinath Varadarajan

"We aim to create a World-class organization exclusively devoted to the divine cause of Self Thinking. I can only say that any individual who contributes to this organization by giving in thought input will most certainly gain at-least an equivalent amount of perspective and clarity in thought. It is, after all, the presence of clear ideals and actions that will shape a better tomorrow! For you, for me and the rest of the World!"

- Prashanth Krishnaswami

"Why I joined Sit? Basically, to be honest, all these years I was stuck to my medical profession and my life revolved around patients, and only doctors. At some point I realized that there was a larger world out there and I need to meet people and interact with them. That meant I meet the non doctor crowd and go ahead from there. And that was when Sit happened and I deliberately decided that I will join the group of youngsters and see what I can learn from them and at the same time contribute to the group. Ever since, its been a great experience for me because the whole world opened up and there's been a lot more for me than what I had really expected. Sit is a forum which I felt is meeting place for people who have their own fixed ideas yet open to exchange views and probably even change their views with which one is stuck at times. Lots of things are discussed here from some of the simplest things to even highly philosophical aspects of life. It’s a great place to learn a lot and also see different aspects of the same thing seen by different people."

- Dr.Mohan Rao

"Besides the founders, I am proud to say that I'm one of the earliest members of Sit. I've always believed that man needs to learn continually throughout his life and that all things become clear only at death. One mostly learns from his experiences in life and sometimes, by observing other people in his social circle. It is not very often that one finds friends in people from multi various walks of life and that kind of circumscribes your experiences. Sit's debates, discussions, arguments allowed me to push my learning curve steeper and also broke my belief that one can learn only from textbooks and experience. I am glad I took a step forward to Sit and looking forward to this enlightening journey which will last, I believe, beyond my lifetime."

- VidhyaShankar Lakshmanan

"SIT is an association of positively charged individuals working towards a collective good"

- Vijay Bhalaki

"I was a very shy person. I never used to talk in public. But Sit gave me the courage. It helped me to make new friends and talk to them in open. It also gives me the knowledge on issues other than my profession, right from grass root level to the pinnacle of spirituality"

- Srinath Veeraraghavan

"Sit...Sit...Sit... these were the buzz words that I have been hearing from day one in my organization. An instantaneous thought that would have flashed any mind is that, yes, perhaps this is just yet another group of people chitchatting their way to glory in the beach on a weekend evening, I was not an exception to it either. But then… the very few beach meets that I attended, proved me that my perceptions were all wrong!!!. I realized the intensity, commitment, dedication, the Zest and Zeal that was behind every person in this group, an urge to achieve and bring about a change that this society badly needs.Simple yet profound topics which would have hardly been given a thought to, or which would not have harnessed the much importance that it actually needs, are considered for discussions. What inspired me the most was that these topics like kudumi, simplicity and humility… which neither of us would have hardly even thought about were subject to so many varied interpretations… maybe that's when I realized that this society would be ideal platform to understand people, their perceptions and ideas….and also the ability to view simple things with a new outlook. Though this is still in the nascent stage, I strongly feel that an active participation by all members is surely bound to make this initiative a success story. I wish that this Sit like a pole star guides very many people in the right directions and also assures in bringing in the “change” that is really warranted."

- Srilakshmi Hariharan

"The Sit has taught me to respect others’ views and understand that complexities arise out of simple thought and we tend to worry only about the complexities that we neglect the simple, basic things"

- Harish Sampath Kumar

“I believe SIT can potentially change the way people resolve issues – Communication is the only barrier. So I want to listen and contribute to get solutions!”

- R Sridhar

“SIT is a come together of like minded persons, who wish to be just not the run of the mill type but who wish to distribute the benefit of a good thinking process for a common good. I am proud to be a part of it.”

- S Ramachandran

“My choice of joining SIT was primarily driven by this motive, i.e., to engage with people across different profession and stand-points regarding philosophy of policy making, integrated approach to solving social issues, and most importantly share the common interest of taking the society a step forward into a better future.”

- Vimal Balasubramaniam

“To be quite frank, at first I had no clue about the objective of SIT nor did I show any keen interest in attending it. However, my perspective changed once I attended a session. It's great that I was and am still able to find like-minded people eager to discuss issues pertaining to everyday lives, issues which are thought internally but not expressed.. This is an ideal forum to launch a serious social awakening to our people who have for long being suppressed by the emotions and deteriorating human values around them. I would personally like to congratulate Srinath and Prashanth, co- founders of the forum for their sincere efforts in inculcating this good habit. I wish them grand success in their endeavours and I hope I too can and will contribute to the betterment of our battered society.”

- Aparajith Jayaraman

“SIT motivated me to think beyond what I was taught and what I believed to tbe credible sources of knowledge. It instilled in me a lot of self thinking and I think that is something the society lacks. While self thinking is always there in complex issues, simple issues are neglected without even giving a good thought about the same. In this hustle bustle world, SIT just lets me sit and think for a second and get the simple things right!”

- Ravi Chaitanya P

“As a student of Law, I have always wondered how I could contribute in my own way so as to make an improvement to the sorry state of affairs that the country is facing now. With terrorism, violence and hatred making their presence felt, everyone looks forward to a change, a change that will make a difference to the entire country. I am no exception to this huge mass of people. Just as others, I failed to realise one thing. That empathy and passive willingness would just not suffice, if a change were to come about. Attitudes need to change. However, a conscious effort has to be engaged in for the same. That instead of pin-pointing at others, an initiative should be taken by oneself. The SIT is doing just that. The Society for Intellectual Thinking as it is rightly named aims at instigating the sense of belongingness in people towards our nation (which has got blurred over time in the world of hustle-bustle). Started as a tiny idea of motivating people to act, the SIT has come a long way since its establishment. The Ideas and thought process behind an act determines its efficiency. The objective of the SIT to strengthen the roots of thinking and idea-generation has made sure that SIT makes its mark and attracts the right-thinking members of the society. As group ever increasing, SIT still has a long way to go in terms of implementing its agenda, and the current events just seem to assure a bright, fruitful future.”

- Akshaya Ramadurai

“I believe it resembles the “Gardening” process in Mindtree to strengthen the emotional infrastructure. The process is similar to what we do in SIT meets, discuss about personal-professional thoughts. Its astonishing to know that SIT runs a similar kind of programme enabling us to become leaders in a better and more fun way and the group discussions ensure that we get to know about different ideologies and philosophies to make us believe in ourself and to be confident both internally and externally.”
